CUPE and ETFO reach tentative agreements; suspend work-to-rule actionshttp://pin.scdsb.on.ca/about-us/news/board-news/41CUPE and ETFO reach tentative agreements; suspend work-to-rule actions<h2>ETFO</h2><p>The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) began provincial job action in the form of a work-to-rule campaign in May 2015.   <br></p><p><strong>On November 2, ETFO reached a tentative agreement at the central bargaining table with the Government of Ontario and the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association (OPSBA). </strong> The tentative deal must be endorsed by ETFO's local leaders before it is presented to all ETFO members for ratification. ETFO has agreed to suspend central job action while ratification takes place. Terms of the tentative agreement have not yet been made public.</p><h2>CUPE</h2><p>The collective bargaining agreement between the Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) expired on August 31, 2014. In the SCDSB, CUPE represents our custodial and maintenance staff. Since September 10, 2015, CUPE members have been engaged in provincial job action in the form of a work-to-rule campaign.   <br></p><p><strong>On November 2, CUPE reached a tentative agreement at the central bargaining table with the Government of Ontario and the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association (OPSBA). </strong> The tentative deal must be endorsed by CUPE's local leaders before it is presented to all CUPE members for ratification. He is equally well known as the author of books for parents and caregivers as he is for his world-renowned research on the topic of resilience. As a writer he has adapted ideas from his research and clinical practice into best selling works like <em>Too Safe For Their Own Good: How Risk and Responsibility Help Teens Thrive</em>, and his most recent release, <em>I Still Love You: Nine Things Troubled Kids Need from Their Parents</em>. In total, he has published 14 books, 125 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, and maintains a blog on <em>Psychology Today</em>’s website. In another of his many roles, he is the founder and co-director of the Resilience Research Centre that coordinates millions of dollars in research in more than a dozen countries. That work has inspired many of Michael’s books and articles for mental health professionals and researchers, including <em>Working with Children and Youth with Complex Needs: 20 Skills to Build Resilience</em>, and <em>The Social Ecology of Resilience</em>.</p>
